We mourn the loss of Dorothy Elizabeth Tucker, who flew away on January 3, 2018 at the age of 95. For the past few years, the company has been rehearsing a piece by Dorothy Elizabeth which expressed as much of her accumulated wisdom as could be packed into 14 minutes of dance. For the final section of the work, she led us on a deep exploration of the meaning of joy. It was a joy, and a blessing, to work with her and to learn from her.

Dorothy Elizabeth practiced love, bravery, and faith. She worked for the wellbeing of children and the rights of women all her life. She took joy in bringing people together. She loved and was loved by hundreds. We miss her terribly.
